About Michael/Testimony

Family pic 2019

I was born in Missouri, lived in California, grew up in Arizona, and taught English in Taiwan. When I returned to the States I went to Moody Bible Institute and seminary at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Soon I will begin working on my Doctorate in Expository Preaching from Liberty. While at Moody I met my wonderful wife, Marcie, and have been married for 27 years. Marcie and I have three energetic children, Justice (21), Audra (19) and Noah (16). My first job following seminary was as an Associate Pastor leading a ministry for young adults and newly married couples in Illinois. Following my time in Illinois I moved to New Jersey where I served as the Lead Pastor for nearly ten years. In March of 2015 I accepted the call to become Senior Pastor at New Life Church in South Dakota!

My passions include centering everything the church does in the gospel, building a strong sense of community, making disciples and reaching out to others with the love of Jesus Christ.

I am a firm believer that we can never talk or think about the gospel too much. The life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has drastic implications for how we live out our everyday, mundane lives. We never move on from the gospel, we are spiritually transformed as we abide in the life of Christ on a day-to-day basis.

Michael — Thanks for your fine collection of Tim Keller quotes. I’m taking the liberty of reposting it on the Exponential Blog. It should appear there before noon on April 1st.
